About Us


The origin of Nasi Kandar is an Indian Muslim dish which can be traced back to most of the streets during colonial Malaysia. Then the trade was done by hawking around the streets by carrying baskets of food hanging from a yoke across his shoulder. Tantalizing aromas of fragrant curries, vegetables, fried fish, beef and chicken would precede his arrival as he went from house to house. Here was the how the name Nasi Kandar originated.

The desire to blend the age old home recipes passed on from generations to generations with modern management, prompted brothers, Shamik Firdaus and Mohamed Azlan to start Restoran Makbul Nasi Kandar.

Restoran Makbul Nasi Kandar Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated on 3 May 2000. The passion and desire is to serve good and quality authentic Nasi Kandar, without moving away from the true concept of Nasi Kandar which has become a part and parcel of our unique heritage.This has been the growing factor of Restoran Makbul Nasi Kandar.

To date, the company has flapped its wings by opening seven 24 hours outlets in Malaysia with total work force of 300 staff. Restoran Makbul Nasi Kandar also went on to venture in their own supply chain of raw materials in responds to the ever increasing demand.
